Everyone wishes for happiness but so much of the happiness we find in this world is short lived and never quite lives up to our expectations. The happiness you will learn to unlock on this course is the lasting happiness that come from training your mind in positive states, learn to keep your mind happy regardless of the outside world.

Sammi is a father of two young girls and is an engineer by trade.  He has been training and practicing at Maitreya Centre for 4 years and brings a passion and enthusiasm to that will inspire and encourage all.

What to Expect

Guided Meditation

Enjoy two simple guided meditations, exploring different types of meditation; analytical, placement and have an opportunity to practice their application. Learn how to settle the mind and experience real lasting inner peace.

Thought for the day

The teacher will present a short explanation on the weekly subject and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion.

DAILY LIFE

All advice is based on the application of these ancient teaching into your daily life, learn how to use meditation to maintain a happy mind all the time.

Our classes are for everyone who is interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or belief. They are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice. Everyone is invited to use whichever aspects of the teachings they find helpful.

No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind.

No. Everyone is welcome, including beginners. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.

No special clothing is required, come as you are.

No. The classes focus on meditation and teachings alone. You can choose to sit on a chair or meditation cushion.

We are a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, no-one receives a salary. The funds we receive are used to pay for our venues and operating expenses. Although we charge for classes we also offer low-income rates and no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
