Freedom From All Fear
Talks and Guided Meditations with Maitreya Centre Resident Teacher Kelsang Rak-ma
(Video Catch-up available for 5 days)
An introduction to the practice of guarding the mind
Buddha explained that all fear and suffering comes from an uncontrolled, unpeaceful mind. If we want to be truly happy and free from fear, and be able to help others in the best way, we need to protect our mind from negative thoughts and keep focused on virtuous, positive states of mind.
The instructions on guarding the mind were set out beautifully in the timeless poem Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life by the eighth century Buddhist master Shantideva.
In these classes, we will look at Shantideva’s practical instructions for keeping our mind free from negativity and fear so we can be truly happy and of benefit to others. We will also look at Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s commentary to Shantideva’s poem, Meaningful to Behold.
